Yesterday the U.S. Supreme Court blocked the Voter ID law.
As of 10/8/14 you will not need to show an ID in order to vote in November.
The ruling comes as a result of legal challenges to the law. The law is expected to make it harder for people to vote and decrease turnout. A study by the federal government found that Voter ID laws decrease minority turnout in elections.
Yesterday’s Supreme Court order is not a final decision on the law, but any other action on the voter ID law isn’t expected until after the November election.
